PhD Student in Operations Research, Georgia Institute of Technology
My name is Kevin, and I am an Operations Research PhD student at Georgia Institute of Technology.
My research centers on energy systems and sustainability, with a focus on the Capacity Expansion Planning problem— planning long-term investments in power generation and transmission to ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of electricity. This challenge is becoming increasingly complex due to rising electricity demand and the growing share of intermittent renewable resources like wind and solar. More recently, my work has explored the siting and sizing of energy storage, along with the development of optimization techniques to maintain scalability and tractability at high spatial and operational resolutions.
I am a Ph.D. student at Georgia Tech, conducting research in the AI4OPT Lab under the direction of Dr. Pascal Van Hentenryck.
